Become a Coach

More coaches means more kids can ride.

Why Coach?

Coaching with CCC is one of the most rewarding things a parent can do. You'll ride with kids, help them develop skills, watch them grow in confidence, and be part of a positive, supportive team. Plus, more coaches means the team can welcome more riders.

Do I Need to Be an Expert?

No. You don't need to be an expert racer. You need a willingness to learn, a commitment to safety, and the desire to help kids have a great experience on the bike. NICA provides training and licensing to prepare every coach.

Coach Levels

  1. Level 1 - Entry-level coach who supports team activities and riders under the guidance of more experienced coaches.
  2. Level 2 - Trained coach who can actively lead and instruct riders during practices and team rides.
  3. Level 3 - NICA’s highest coaching level, qualified to lead practices, develop riders and help oversee a team’s coaching program.

What's Required?

  • NICA coach licensing and training (provided through NICA)
  • Background check
  • First aid / safety training
  • Commitment to practices and team events
  • Following the NICA coaching code of conduct

What Does the Commitment Look Like?

Coaching with CCC is a seasonal commitment that runs from December through May.

Here's what to expect: practices twice a week (weekday afternoons and weekend mornings), plus race weekends roughly once a month. We ask coaches to commit to as many practices as they can manage — consistency matters for the riders. Coaches also help at race weekends when available.

The time commitment is flexible and we work with your schedule, but the more you're able to be there, the more rewarding it is for you and the riders.
