Competition MTB Team

Safety

Safety is always our top priority at CCC.

Safety Philosophy

CCC believes that every rider deserves a safe environment to learn, grow, and have fun. Safety is embedded in everything we do — from practice planning to coach training to race day protocols.

Helmet Requirement

A properly fitting, CPSC-certified helmet is required at all times when riding. No helmet, no ride — no exceptions.

Practice Expectations

  • Riders must follow coach instructions at all times
  • Ride within your ability level
  • Stay with your group
  • Communicate hazards to other riders
  • No headphones while riding

Weather & Heat Guidance

Practices may be modified or cancelled due to extreme heat, poor air quality, rain, or unsafe trail conditions. Coaches monitor conditions and communicate changes through TeamSnap.

Injury Protocol

Coaches carry first aid supplies and are trained in basic first aid. In case of injury, coaches assess the situation and contact parents immediately. Serious injuries will be treated as emergencies.

Emergency Contacts

Parents must provide emergency contact information during registration. This information is accessible to coaches during all team activities.

Concussion Awareness

CCC follows NICA guidelines for concussion awareness and management. Any rider suspected of having a concussion is removed from activity and must be cleared by a medical professional before returning.

Rider Code of Conduct

All riders are expected to treat teammates, coaches, other teams, and trail users with respect. Bullying, unsafe behavior, and unsportsmanlike conduct are not tolerated.

Parent Code of Conduct

Parents are expected to model good sportsmanship, follow team guidelines, communicate respectfully, and support a positive team culture.

Reporting Concerns

If you have a safety concern or need to report an issue, please reach out immediately. All concerns are taken seriously and handled appropriately.
